Mylan is Granted Summary Judgment on all Three Strengths of MirtazapinePITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2002--Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: MYL) today announced that the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey has granted summary judgment in Mylan's favor on the issue of non-infringement of Organon's Remeron^® patent No. 5,977,099.

Mirtazapine is the generic equivalent of Remeron, a $490 million product indicated for the treatment of major depression. Mylan received tentative Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for Mirtazapine Tablets in 15 mg, 30 mg and 45 mg strengths on January 15, 2002. Mylan will launch the product upon receipt of final FDA approval.
