Mylan Receives Approval for Nizatidine CapsulesPITTSBURGH, Jul 9, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: MYL) announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Nizatidine Capsules, 150 mg and 300 mg.

Mylan Nizatidine is the generic equivalent of Reliant Pharmaceuticals' Axid® Capsules. Axid is indicated for the treatment of active duodenal ulcer and maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients and also for the treatment of endoscopically diagnosed esophagitis and benign active gastric ulcer.

    The product will be shipped before the end of the week.
