Mylan Receives FDA Approval for New Strength -25mg- Metoprolol TartratePITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 2004--Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE:MYL) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted final approval for Mylan Pharmaceuticals' Abbreviated New Drug Application, which provides for a new strength (25 mg) of metoprolol tartrate.

President and COO, Louis J. DeBone stated, "Mylan is the single largest generic supplier of metoprolol tartrate, in 50 mg and 100 mg strengths, in the United States. The addition of a new 25 mg strength further enhances our generic product portfolio and offers a convenient dosage alternative for patients and health care providers."

The new 25 mg product will be available soon.
