Mylan Announces Appointment of Gregory L. (Greg) Sheldon as Global Chief Information OfficerPITTSBURGH, Pa., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: MYL) today announced the appointment of Gregory L. Sheldon as Global Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective October 15, 2007. Mr. Sheldon brings over 25 years of experience in developing and executing information technology strategy, systems and processes in the pharmaceutical, consumer products, and business services industries.

Mr. Sheldon has held numerous leadership positions, most recently as the Vice President of Global Program Delivery and Engineering at Pfizer, Inc. As the chief engineer and global leader of information technology (IT) program delivery, Mr. Sheldon built and led efforts responsible for the transformation of separate corporate technology platforms into a unified global infrastructure. Prior to Pfizer, Mr. Sheldon held executive positions with Choice Point Services Company, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, the Georgia Lottery Corporation and Kraft Foods.

Mr. Sheldon has extensive experience with the design and deployment of company-wide networks and business systems, the integration of separate IT infrastructures, and supportive business functions such as regulatory and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. His professional background also encompasses distributed systems management and leadership development.
