(1) Use of Lamivudine has been associated with lactic acidosis and fatty liver disease. Acute exacerbations of Hepatitis B have occurred upon discontinuation. In patients with unrecognized or untreated HIV, resistance may emerge while treating Hepatitis B with Lamivudine.
